The Outback Hair Salon will be 15 years old in July 2012, and was created after Paula returned from travelling the world and falling in love with Australia. This is Paula’s story..

In 1995 I went travelling for a year & worked my way around the world cutting the hair of fellow travellers in Canada, Hawaii, New Zealand & Thailand before settling for a few months in a wonderful salon in Sydney, Australia.
On returning to the UK, I went to work for the Headmasters group of salons before deciding to spread my wings and rent the back of a barber’s shop in Sydenham; and so The Outback Hair Salon was borne.
The tiny salon flourished & grew & was so successful the appointment book was always full to bursting. We had 5 wonderful years ‘out-the-back’, cementing some wonderful client friendships. I was also extremely lucky to be able to bring my dog Benji (RIP) to work!
In 2002 we moved across the road to our current location in the brand new refurbished building in Station Approach. We are always very happy when new clients visit us, and we still enjoy the patronage of our long-standing fantastically loyal clients, with whom I am eternally grateful for their continued custom & support.
I feel so lucky to be working in a job that I adore and at the same time having fun, making money & aiming to be the best salon in our town.
Thank you for reading about our salon & we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Finally, a big heartfelt Thank You to all my clients past & present, who have helped make The Outback the salon it is today.
